One Week Old

Connor is one week old today.  Poor baby has been through more in one week of life than Matt or I have been through in our 26 years of life.  He spent the day having another EEG done and because of his dsats, he had to be hooked up to a CPAP so he looked a little different.  He had to have a feeding tube put in because of the CPAP.  He just looked miserable!  He is such a sweet little boy though and we can already tell he is going to be a strong little fighter!  We love him SO much already.

Hiccups!

After feeding, Connor got the hiccups.  It has to be the cutest thing ever!

Should I, or Should I Not?

It's a tough decision. Should I wake up or not?  Connor's not quite sure what he should do.

Connor Robert Walton

Connor Robert Walton was born Sunday at 6:51 a.m. via c-section as he was not tolerating labor.  He was estimated to be around 7 pounds, but was born weighing only 4 pounds, 14 ounces. He was taken to the nursery immediately after being born and was soon placed in the Level 2 nursery.  He had some breathing issues so he was placed on oxygen and was being monitored for lots of things. We have been through the wringer the past few days as he was transferred Monday to MUSC's Level 2 nursery (mainly to test and find out what was going on with him) and yesterday he was transferred to the NICU for a seizure.  He is currently undergoing in EEG due to the seizure.

There have been so many people who have been keeping our family in their thoughts and prayers and that helps so much.  We're just ready to bring our little man home.  Here are some pictures of the most handsome baby in the world

Poor baby...SO many wires and monitors

39 Weeks...almost there!

Ignore the dirty mirror...

How far along? 39 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Weight was the same from my last appointment so that was good news :)
Maternity clothes? Most definitely
Stretch marks? Yeah, I think I'm getting more too :/
Sleep: I have been exhausted. I've been asleep before 8 most nights this week. Overall sleep has been good, but it usually takes me a while to fall back asleep after waking up in the middle of the night.
Best moment this week: Knowing I'm almost done with work {although as I type this I'm officially done}
Miss Anything? Moving like a normal person. It's hard to get up from the couch and chairs.
Movement: Even though he doesn't have a ton of space, Connor is still moving well!
Food cravings: None, still just hungry all the time!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope
Have you started to show yet: Yes, although my belly is still not as big as I thought it would get.
Gender: Still a boy!
Labor Signs: I still don't think I've felt any contractions, but I do feel like something is happening. When I bend down or squat I feel kind of sore
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie! At this point, I don't think it will pop! It definitely looks different though.
Wedding rings on or off? Off....boo!

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy and tired
Looking forward to: Meeting our little man!  Any day now!
Other: I got checked for the first time at the doctor this week and I'm 1 cm. dilated and about 70% effaced.  Good to know my body is gearing up for labor.

Operation Nursery Part 5

I believe our nursery is FINALLY ready!

 View from the door

This shelf holds his toys, most of which are from my wonderful friend Jessie!

Holy cow, this boy is SET on clothes.  He has lots of great new clothes and tons of hand me downs!

 View from the closet

Can't wait to see our little boy's face in here

Lots of dirty diapers will be changed here :)

 View from the glider

 Another glider view

His books...can't wait to read to our little man!

Uh, yeah, I think he has enough socks and hats...what about you?

So many sweet little sleepers :)

Is it possible to have too many bibs?

We can't wait to bring our little man home and see him in this space :)

38 Weeks

How far along? 38 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I gained some weight from my last appointment, which I will NOT share, ha.  The doctor wasn't concerned though...she said it was mainly fluid shifts.
Maternity clothes? Most definitely
Stretch marks? Yeah, I think I'm getting more too :/
Sleep: I have been exhausted.  I've been asleep before 8 most nights this week.  Overall sleep has been good.
Best moment this week: Oh SO many.  Matt's work threw him a little surprise informal shower and we got some more gifts.  Also, I won a $50 gift card at work for having the most improvement in Reading MAP scores!
Miss Anything? Moving like a normal person.  It's hard to get up from the couch and chairs.
Movement: Even though he doesn't have a ton of space, Connor is still moving well!
Food cravings: None, still just hungry all the time!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope, although I'm still not quite over my sickness.  I started to feel sick yesterday, although that's technically 39 weeks!
Have you started to show yet: Yes, although my belly is still not as big as I thought it would get.
Gender: Still a boy!
Labor Signs: I don't think I've felt any contractions, but I do feel like something is happening.  When I bend down or squat I feel kind of sore
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie! At this point, I don't think it will pop!  It definitely looks different though.
Wedding rings on or off? Off....boo!

Happy or moody most of the time? Moody...I've been much moodier this week.
Looking forward to: My last week of work for 12 weeks!  I can't wait!  Plus, meeting our little man!
Other: Unless my sleep habits/needs change, I am going to be screwed when Connor comes.  I've been sleeping well and am still exhausted.  My heartburn is still raging and I've almost gone through my entire Costco size case of Tums!
